Call for Submissions

Enter your best work to be recognized by leading professionals in your community, have your work promoted across Canada and the US and receive a cash award. In 2008, the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD Ontario) will present fifteen $1,000 awards to students in recognition of their outstanding achievements and to encourage excellence in all areas of graphic design.In addition to the $15,000 in cash prizes, winners receive a special certificate and their work is profiled in Applied Arts and in a public, week-long exhibit in downtown Toronto. (All Honourable Mentions receive a certificate.) Deadline May 9. Download the entry form here.

Become a Volunteer

RGD Ontario is now recruiting Student Member volunteers for its Fall Program. Students are asked to contribute 40 hours to receive benefits that include free attendance at the DesignThinkers, a certificate of recognition and a free copy of The Business of Graphic Design: A Professional’s Handbook. Future of the Profession

With over 1,800 student members, RGD Ontario recognizes that students are the future of the Association and Canada’s graphic design industry and we have created many programs specifically for students. These include career development events, our annual student awards and an in-office volunteer program.

RGD Ontario connects you with prospective employers, informs you of industry developments and assists you to prepare for your future career. Student Members participate in professional events at special discount rates, receive electronic and mailed communications including our annual Calendar of Logos and the biannual national salary survey and become eligible to enter our annual Student Awards.

Emerging Designers Conference

This annual student conference hosted at the CNIB was a great success! Thanks to all those who came out despite the weather.

Attendees participated in studio tours, panel discussions,workshops and portfolio interviews.

MENTORSHIP
